Football Recap: Ethan Mills Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Grace Christian Academy

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Citizens Christian Academy, Covenant Academy was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 58-38 margin over the Grace Christian Academy Cougars. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won four contests by 20 points or more so far this season.

Covenant Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ethan Mills led the charge by throwing for 227 yards and two TDs on only 13 passes, while also rushing for 49 yards and one score. Those 49 rushing yards gave Mills a new career-high. Another rusher making a difference was Grant Reidl, who rushed for 68 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Covenant Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 201 rushing yards. They are a perfect 3-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Covenant Academy's defensive line and their four sacks. Leading the way was William Wilson with two. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with six.

The victory got Covenant Academy back to even at 4-4. As for Grace Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-6.
