Baker hadn't done well against Saraland recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Hornets came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 5-1. This was payback for the Hornets, who suffered a 5-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Katlyn Cone spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits.

At the plate, Gabrielle Peterson was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Kristina Lapeyrouse, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Peterson wasn't the only one making solid contact: Baker kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive matches.

Baker's victory bumped their record up to 22-11. As for Saraland, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-7.

Baker has already played their next game, a 7-3 win against Faith Academy on the 5th. As for Saraland, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-1 victory against St. Paul's Episcopal on the 7th.
