Baseball Game Preview: Cannon County Lions vs. Eagleville Eagles

Cannon County is 1-9 against Eagleville since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Lions will welcome the Eagles at 4:00 p.m.

On Thursday, Cannon County came up short against Sequatchie County and fell 8-3. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cannon County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Fritts, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that Fritts has hit this season.

Summertown typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Eagleville proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against Summertown by a score of 12-7. The win continues a trend for Eagleville in their matchups with Summertown: they've now won three in a row.

Eagleville also got a great performance from Drake Rzemieniewski as he tossed 4.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Rzemieniewski has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Maddox Bouldin was a standout: he went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most hits he has posted over his last nine contests. Another player making a difference was Brody Gleason, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI.

Eagleville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Summertown only managed nine hits.

Eagleville's victory bumped their record up to 21-6. As for Cannon County, they now have a losing record of 9-10.
