Baseball Game Preview: Upper Sandusky Rams vs. Colonel Crawford Eagles

The Upper Sandusky Rams will head out to take on the Colonel Crawford Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Upper Sandusky is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.

Upper Sandusky is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Seneca East with a sharp 16-5 win on Wednesday. The Rams have beaten the Tigers the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Tigers has come to flipping the script.

Kasen Gottfried was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Josh Heilman, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Upper Sandusky kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Seneca East only managed four hits.

Meanwhile, Colonel Crawford started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Lucas. They lost 15-3 to the Cubs on Thursday. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Cubs recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Colonel Crawford's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Upper Sandusky, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.

Everything went Upper Sandusky's way against Colonel Crawford in their previous meeting on April 9th, as Upper Sandusky made off with a 14-4 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
