Recap: Greer Yellow Jackets vs. Laurens Raiders

Even though the Laurens Raiders scored an imposing 59 points on Friday, the Greer Yellow Jackets still came out on top. Greer walked away with a 69-59 victory over Laurens. Given Greer's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 12th, while Laurens is ranked 157th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Greer's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isaiah Henry, who scored 18 points along with three steals. That's the first time this season that Henry scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Amare Anderson, who scored 19 points along with two steals.

When it comes to explaining why Laurens lost, one person who can't be blamed is Keilaund Singleton. Despite the final result, he scored 19 points along with three steals. That's the first time this season that Singleton scored 15 or more points.

Greer has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. As for Laurens, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Greer will take on Wade Hampton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wade Hampton is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses. As for Laurens, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Riverside at 7:30 p.m.
