Baseball Recap: Goddard Lions vs. Newton Railroaders
Goddard barely beat Newton the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Lions put the hurt on the Railroaders with a sharp 11-4 win on Friday. That seven run margin sets a new team best for the Lions this season.
Lincoln Jensen made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Goddard is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-11 otherwise. Jensen was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one triple and one RBI.

In other batting news, Landon Kohlhorst and Jaxson Mruk did most of the damage at the plate: Kohlhorst went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs, while Mruk got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
