Recap: Bethesda Christian Patriots vs. Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory Braves
After a string of four wins, the Bethesda Christian Patriots's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 47-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory. Bethesda Christian has not had much luck with Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Loss or not, Bethesda Christian got some senior leadership from Kenzie Fulks who scored 12 points along with six assists and three steals and Jayla Ferguson who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and three blocks. Fulks also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Tori Hamilton was another key contributor, scoring five points along with two steals.
Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory found their leader in underclassman Jailen Bowling, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 26 points and 1 assist. Another player making a difference was Audra Kendall, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Bethesda Christian's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-4. As for Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-6.
Bethesda Christian will head out on the road to square off against University at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Herron at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Herron focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Thursday.
