Independence proved they can win big on Monday (they won by ten) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Aurora Greenmen, sneaking past 3-2. The victory was familiar territory for the Blue Devils, who have now won six games in a row.

Dom Narduzzi was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.

Independence's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-3. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Aurora, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-17.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Independence will face off against Bard Early College at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Aurora, they will challenge North Royalton at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The last three games the Bears have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
