Volleyball Recap: St. Joseph Academy Beats Calvin Christian for Their Fifth Straight Win

If Calvin Christian wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played St. Joseph Academy, they should've done a better job of containing Sean Ambuul. St. Joseph Academy came out on top against Calvin Christian by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday for which the team can thank Ambuul, who had 21 digs, four aces, and two blocks. He has been hot, having posted two or more aces the last five times he's played.

St. Joseph Academy had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 24-26, 25-17, 25-18, 25-16.

St. Joseph Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brewster Gale, who had seven kills, seven digs, and six blocks. Those six blocks gave Gale a new career-high.

The victory (which was St. Joseph Academy's fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-4. As for Calvin Christian, they dropped their record down to 3-12 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.
