Basketball Recap: Rockingham County Extends Winning Streak to Two

High Point Central came into Tuesday's match looking for another win against Rockingham County, but Dalton 'Dynamite' Johnson wouldn't allow it. The Rockingham County Cougars came out on top against the High Point Central Bison by a score of 73-64 on Tuesday thanks in part to Johnson, who went 11 of 24 en route to 37 points. That makes it eight consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Rockingham County's points.

Brady Ross was another key player, putting up 12 points. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

High Point Central's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Adonai Tyrance, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and ten rebounds. The contest was Tyrance's third in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Jacob Williams, who posted 15 points in addition to eight assists and six boards.

The victory made it two in a row for Rockingham County and bumps their season record up to 11-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 85.5 points over those games. As for High Point Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 13-7 record this season.

Rockingham County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 67-64 loss against Northeast Guilford on the 5th.
