Football Recap: Newkirk Takes a Loss

After flying high against Blackwell last Friday, Newkirk came back down to earth. The Tigers took a 14-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hennessey Eagles on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost four in a row.

The critical scores for Hennessey came from Levi Ferrell and Brytan Gardner.

Newkirk's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Hennessey, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Newkirk is set to face off against their familiar foe Casady at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. Meanwhile, Hennessey will square off against rival Alva at 7:00 p.m. on October 3.
