Baseball Recap: Prestonsburg Find Success

Prestonsburg got themselves on the board against Bradenton Christian on Tuesday, but Bradenton Christian never followed suit. They had just enough and edged out the Panthers 2-0.

Not much got past Brayden Tussey, who gave up just four hits to keep Bradenton Christian off the board.

On the hitting side, Prestonsburg's victory was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Aaron Jarrell, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave Jarrell a new career-high. Another was Barrett Hunter, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base.

The win got Prestonsburg back to even at 4-4. As for Bradenton Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season.

Prestonsburg will challenge Plant City at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Raiders' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Blackcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Bradenton Christian, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Bradenton Christian Panthers face off against Inspiration Academy Red Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
