Baseball Recap: Robinson Takes a Loss

Robinson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Hillsborough Terriers. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Terriers this season, with their most recent defeat being a 7-4 loss back in March.

Lincoln DeGroot got Robinson off to a strong start despite the final result, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. DeGroot has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Collin Rosenberg made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Ben Bryan also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Robinson's record is now 8-15. As for Hillsborough, with the win, they broke their eight-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-15.

Robinson didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 13-1 defeat against Riverview on the 9th. As for Hillsborough, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 14-0 loss against Steinbrenner on the 9th.
