Baseball Game Preview: Morristown-Beard Crimson vs. Hanover Park Hornets

Morristown-Beard hasn't had much luck against Hanover Park recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Crimson will head out to take on the Hornets at 11:00 a.m. Morristown-Beard will come into the match with an undefeated record on the line.

While Morristown-Beard didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Everything went their way against Manville on Friday as they made off with an 8-1 victory.

Josh Greenwood tossed a big game, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on John Cartaina, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Austin Gildea was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Hanover Park hadn't done well against Montville recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Hornets came out on top in a nail-biter against the Mustangs, sneaking past 6-4.

Morristown-Beard's record is now 4-0. As for Hanover Park, their record now sits at 1-0.

The rematch might be a little tougher for the Crimson since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
