Basketball Recap: Ashton Jenkins' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Citrus over Anclote

Citrus was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They fell 42-31 to the Anclote Sharks.

Citrus lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Ashton Jenkins, who went 6 of 11 en route to 12 points and five boards. Gavin Fern was another key player, putting up six points.

Citrus' loss dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Anclote, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-9.

Citrus will challenge Hernando at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hernando is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.6 points per game this season. As for Anclote, they will face off against Countryside at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Countryside also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 58.4 points per game.
