Softball Game Preview: False River Gators vs. Madison Prep Academy

The False River Gators will face off against Madison Prep Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

False River is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight games on Tuesday. They came up short against Dunham, falling 9-3.

Reese Hadley and Makenzie Schafer did some serious damage despite the final result: Hadley went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run, while Schafer went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That hit marked the first that Hadley has got this season. Another player making a difference was Ramie Guidroz, who went 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Madison Prep Academy lost 18-5 to Ville Platte on Wednesday.

Denyah Corley made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylin Borgella, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI.

Madison Prep Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for False River, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7-1.

False River couldn't quite get it done against Madison Prep Academy in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 as they fell 13-9. Can the Gators avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
