Basketball Game Preview: Westwood Rebels vs. St. Mary's Hawks

The Westwood Rebels are taking a road trip to square off against the St. Mary's Hawks on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Westwood is headed into the contest having just posted their biggest win since January 4th on Monday. They breezed past West Monona to the tune of 72-43.

Meanwhile, St. Mary's entered their tilt with Siouxland Christian on Monday with three consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with four. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Eagles 72-32. The Hawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 games by 20 points or more this season.

St. Mary's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points over those games. As for Westwood, they now have a winning record of 12-11.

Westwood took a serious blow against St. Mary's when the teams last played back in February of 2019, falling 59-31. Can Westwood avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
