Softball Recap: Aloha Wins Going Away Against Beaverton

Aloha was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Beaverton on Friday. The Warriors were the clear victors by an 11-3 margin over the Beavers. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won seven contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Chiyori Brumley made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. Brumley was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Avery Dimeo, who went 4-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Ava Cruz also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Aloha was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .405. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Aloha's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 8-7. As for Beaverton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Aloha will venture away from home to take on Mountainside at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Mavericks' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Warriors' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Beaverton, they will head out on the road to face off against Westview at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
