Preview: Lamar County Bulldogs vs. Berry Wildcats
The Lamar County Bulldogs will head out on the road to take on the Berry Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Berry took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Lamar County, who comes in off a win.
Lamar County posted their biggest victory yet this season on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 58-36 margin over Winston County. The win made it back-to-back wins for Lamar County.
Berry suffered their biggest defeat since November 27, 2023 on Tuesday. They suffered a rough 61-35 defeat at the hands of Brilliant. While losing is never fun, Berry can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 445th, while Brilliant is ranked 222nd).
Lamar County's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Berry, their defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-11.
Lamar County took their victory against Berry in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 52-28. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lamar County since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
