Volleyball Recap: Mathews Beats Mckinley for Their Third Straight Victory

Mathews entered their tilt with McKinley on Wednesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Red Dragons. This was a revenge game for the Mustangs: when they faced off against the Red Dragons back in September, they had to take a 3-0 loss.

The win didn't come easy: McKinley scored at least 19 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-19, 25-23.

RILEE PADDOCK paced Mathews' offense, picking up eight kills. PADDOCK got some help from MADI DARLINGTON and her 11 assists. PADDOCK was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Mathews' victory bumped their record up to 10-12. As for McKinley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. After both having extra time off, Mathews and Heartland Christian will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. on the 16th. As for McKinley, they will take on East at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
