Wilmington hadn't done well against New Richmond recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Hurricane came out on top against the Lions by a score of 3-1. This was a revenge game for the Hurricane: when they faced off against the Lions back in September, they had to take a 3-1 defeat.

Miya Nance paced Wilmington's offense, picking up 16 kills. Nance got some help from Anna Niemesh and her 15 assists. Nance was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

With the win, Wilmington broke their three-match losing streak and moved their record to 6-13. As for New Richmond, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Wilmington will venture away from home to face off against East Clinton at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for New Richmond, they will face off against Wyoming at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
