Baseball Recap: Fuchs Mizrachi Takes a Loss

Fuchs Mizrachi had lost six straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 0-2 to make it seven. They fell 5-2 to the Lawrence Upper Lions. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mayhem of the 7-6 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Fuchs Mizrachi saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kivi Teller, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. Tani Steiger was another, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

As for Lawrence Upper, they now have a winning record of 3-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for they.

On Lawrence Upper's side, Dominic Bell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on seven hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Jordan Jackson and Will Crooks did most of the damage at the plate: Jackson went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases and one run, while Crooks went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those two hits gave Jackson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Max Samac, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run.

Looking ahead, Lawrence Upper will face off against Lincoln West at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wolverines have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.89 runs per game on average), something the Lions will no doubt try to take advantage of. Fuchs Mizrachi will be paying especially close attention to Lawrence Upper's contest: after Lawrence Upper faces off against Varsity Opponent, they'll take on Fuchs Mizrachi again at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
