Preview: Tuscola Mountaineers vs. East Henderson Eagles
Tuscola is on a four-game streak of home losses, the Eagles a seven-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Tuscola Mountaineers will take on the East Henderson Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Last Friday, Tuscola was beaten by the Panthers 66-37. While losing is never fun, Tuscola can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 437th, while the Panthers are ranked 216th).
Despite the defeat, Tuscola had strong showings from Kendall Williamson, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds, and Sofia Wijewickrama, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, East Henderson had to suffer through a rough 56-29 loss at the hands of the Falcons. East Henderson has not had much luck with the Falcons recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Tuscola has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for East Henderson, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-14.
Tuscola strolled past the Eagles in their previous meeting on January 11th by a score of 50-33. Does Tuscola have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
