Basketball Recap: Lemon Bay Piles Up the Points Against Westminster Christian

There's no place like home for Lemon Bay, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They couldn't have asked for a better start to 2025 than the 62-30 blowout they got against the Westminster Christian Warriors. The matchup marked the Manta Rays' most dominant victory of the season so far.

It was another big night for Maya Collins, who went 10 for 18 on her way to 21 points in addition to eight rebounds and six assists. She has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 36 times she's played. Kylie Jones was another key player, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 11 boards.

The win got Lemon Bay back to even at 5-5. As for Westminster Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.

Lemon Bay will take on Port Charlotte at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lemon Bay is facing Port Charlotte at the right time seeing as Port Charlotte is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Westminster Christian, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 65-28 loss against Bishop Verot on the 4th.
