Baseball Game Preview: Edmonds-Woodway Warriors vs. Arlington Eagles

The Edmonds-Woodway Warriors are taking a road trip to challenge the Arlington Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Edmonds-Woodway's pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so Arlington's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Edmonds-Woodway's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They walked away with a 3-0 victory over Liberty. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.

Edmonds-Woodway saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Boland, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI. Another was Toshi Gilginas, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Mountlake Terrace hit Arlington with a four-run third inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Eagles fell 6-3 to the Hawks. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Edmonds-Woodway pushed their record up to 10-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Arlington, they now have a losing record of 7-8.

Edmonds-Woodway might still be hurting after the 14-2 defeat they got from Arlington in their previous matchup back in May of 2019. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
