Basketball Recap: Deer Isle-Stonington Takes a Loss

Deer Isle-Stonington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 25th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Sumner Tigers, falling 77-17. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mariners this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 89-34 back in December of 2024.

Deer Isle-Stonington's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Sumner, their win bumped their record up to 7-4.

Deer Isle-Stonington won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Searsport at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Deer Isle-Stonington is facing Searsport at the right time seeing as Searsport is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Sumner, they will host Narraguagus at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Sumner will also cruise into their next game with the timing on their side: Narraguagus will have lost three straight heading into Friday's contest.
