Baseball Game Preview: Valley Vikings vs. Sterling Tigers

Valley hasn't had much luck against Sterling recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Vikings will head out on the road to square off against the Tigers at 4:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Eaton hit Valley with a seven-run seventh inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Vikings came up short against the Reds, falling 16-3.

Meanwhile, Sterling fell victim to University and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 6-0 to the Bulldogs. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Tigers were not able to get on the board.

Sterling saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caysen Bamford, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Sterling's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8.

Valley was able to grind out a solid victory over Sterling in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 10-5. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
