Volleyball Recap: Coventry Patriots vs. Haddam-Killingworth Cougars

Coventry had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past the Haddam-Killingworth Cougars 3-0 on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Patriots also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2023.

Coventry never let Haddam-Killingworth on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-23, 25-15.

Brooke Blouin paced Coventry's offense, picking up 12 kills. Blouin got some help from Abigail Polo and her 27 assists. Polo was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Despite the loss, Haddam-Killingworth had strong showings from Caley Napoletano, who had 19 digs, and Olivia LaTorre, who had seven digs and three aces. Napoletano has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last 15 times she's played.

The victory made it two in a row for Coventry and bumps their season record up to 19-5. As for Haddam-Killingworth, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-4.

Coventry has already played their next game, a 3-1 win against Immaculate on the 12th. Haddam-Killingworth does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
