Preview: Mullen Broncos vs. Arthur County Wolves
Mullen is 10-0 against Arthur County since February of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Mullen Broncos will look to defend their home court against the Arthur County Wolves at 5:00 p.m. Arthur County took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Mullen, who comes in off a win.
Mullen posted their closest win yet this season on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Twin Loup and snuck past 42-39.
Mullen relied on the efforts of Hayley Donohoe, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals, and Harper Andersen, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Andersen has scored all season. Lauren Schoonveld was another key contributor, scoring four points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Arthur County was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 38-34 to Brady.
Mullen's win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-5. As for Arthur County, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.
Mullen didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Arthur County in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, but they still walked away with a 40-35 victory. Does Mullen have another victory up their sleeve, or will Arthur County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
