Soccer Game Preview: West Florence vs. St. James

The West Florence Knights will head out on the road to challenge the St. James Sharks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

West Florence is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand Myrtle Beach a 6-0 shutout. Considering West Florence have won 14 contests by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for St. James, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They had just enough and edged out North Myrtle Beach 2-1. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

West Florence's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 41 goals over those six games. As for St. James, their record now sits at 12-9.

West Florence suffered a grim 5-0 defeat to St. James in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
