Volleyball Recap: Howards Grove Comes Up Short + How To Watch

If Howards Grove was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Sheboygan Area Lutheran on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tigers lost 3-0 to the Manitowoc Lutheran Lancers on Thursday. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lancers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

While Howards Grove ultimately came up short, they really made Manitowoc Lutheran work, particularly in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 29-27, 25-19, 25-23.

Ashlyn Graf paced Howards Grove's offense, picking up 11 kills. Graf got some help from Avery Sasche and her 12 assists. Graf was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Howards Grove's defeat ended a three-match streak of away wins and brought them to 14-8. As for Manitowoc Lutheran, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.

Howards Grove didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Cedar Grove-Belgium on the 23rd. As for Manitowoc Lutheran, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Kohler on the 23rd.
