Baseball Recap: Bristol-Plymouth RVT Beats Greater New Bedford RVT for Their Fifth Straight Victory

Bristol-Plymouth RVT extended their winning streak (dating back to last season) to five on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 4-0 in the process. They had just enough and edged out the Greater New Bedford RVT Bears 6-4. This was payback for the Craftsmen, who suffered a 6-5 defeat the last time these two teams met.

The team relied heavily on Kyle Weldon, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. Those RBI were his first of the season.

As for Greater New Bedford RVT, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only two runs.

On Greater New Bedford RVT's side, Boston Bettencourt made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Bettencourt has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Logan Rego was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.
