Payson hadn't done well against Holbrook recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Payson Longhorns secured a 42-38 W over the Holbrook Roadrunners. This was payback for the Longhorns, who suffered a 40-37 loss the last time these two teams met.

Despite the loss, Holbrook still got an impressive performance from Deya Guerrero, who posted 19 points. The contest was Guerrero's third in a row with at least 15 points.

Payson is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 25-6 record this season. As for Holbrook, they now have a losing record of 14-15.

Looking ahead, Payson will challenge Sabino at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sabino will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Payson surely won't give up without a fight. Holbrook does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
