Baseball Recap: Modoc Wins Going Away Against Trinity

Modoc came out on top against Trinity on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run first inning. The Braves were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Wolves. The win continues a trend for the Braves in their matchups with the Wolves: they've now won four in a row.

Colin Jeffers made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). Jeffers was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Adin Benson was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two runs.

Modoc's record now sits at 10-2. As for Trinity, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Coincidentally, Modoc and Trinity will both be playing Fall River the next time they take the field. The Braves will head out to face the Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Wolves will head out to face them at 2:00 p.m. on the 25th.
