Softball Recap: California Lutheran Has No Trouble Against Calvary Baptist

California Lutheran's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They blew past the Calvary Baptist Cougars 18-3. The win continues a trend for the C-Hawks in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won three in a row.

Cailin Schroeder made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. What's more, she gave up only one walk, the fewest she's had since back in March of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5.

In other batting news, California Lutheran got a massive performance out of Sofia Klochkova, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Klochkova a new career-high in hits (three). Another player making a difference was Emily French, who scored three runs while going 4-for-5.

The victory got California Lutheran back to even at 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. California Lutheran will take on Nuview Bridge at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Calvary Baptist, they will challenge Public Safety Academy at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
