Football Recap: Ephrata Comes Up Short

Ephrata lost against Cocalico back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Mountaineers took a 33-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. The Mountaineers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Ephrata lost, don't look at Malachi Knowles. Despite the final result, he rushed for 46 yards and one score, and also threw for 131 yards and one touchdown.

James Anderson was a one-man wrecking crew For Cocalico. as he rushed for 143 yards and one TD on only 14 carries. Logan Horning was another key player, rushing for 139 yards and one touchdown.

Ephrata's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Cocalico, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Ephrata will venture away from home to square off against Muhlenberg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cocalico, they will head out to take on Solanco at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles' defense better be ready for this one: the Golden Mules have averaged an impressive 46.1 points per game this season.
