Baseball Recap: Shelby County Comes Up Short

Shelby County fell victim to Enterprise and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Enterprise. That's two games in a row now that Shelby County has lost by exactly three runs.

Shelby County got a good showing from Andrew Knight, who tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Knight posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.

On the hitting side, Shelby County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cale Blevins, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base.

This is the second loss in a row for Shelby County and nudges their season record down to 8-5. As for Enterprise, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.

Shelby County and Enterprise should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings. Shelby County will face off against Tuscaloosa Academy at 2:00 p.m. on Friday up 215 places (70 vs. 285). Similarly, Enterprise (ranked second) will meet T.R. Miller (ranked 121st) at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
