Volleyball Recap: Olivia Yohe's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Houston over Mabel-Canton

After flying high against Schaeffer Academy on Monday, Houston came back down to earth. The Hurricanes came up short against the Mabel-Canton Cougars on Thursday, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, with their most recent loss being a 3-0 defeat back in September.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-10, 25-18.

Houston's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Olivia Yohe, who had three digs and two aces. Yohe has been hot recently, having also posted 19 or more assists the last three times she's played. Jorja Meyer was another key player, getting 11 kills, three digs, and one block.

Houston dropped their record down to 10-16 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Mabel-Canton, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 30-3.

Houston does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mabel-Canton, they will take on New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
