Softball Recap: Boca Raton Extends Winning Streak to Three

Boca Raton waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victor by a 23-3 margin over the Atlantic Christian Sharks. While the Bobcats didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Myah Miller was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits (and only one walk). Miller was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Layla Daly was a standout: she scored five runs while going 2-for-4. Isabelle Thomas was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and two doubles.

Boca Raton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .537. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Atlantic Christian only posted an OBP of .333.

Boca Raton pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Atlantic Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Boca Raton will challenge Dr. Joaquin Garcia at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Atlantic Christian, they will square off against Boca Raton Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
