Softball Recap: Ontario Comes Up Short

Ontario was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 14-2 to the Vale Vikings. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 24, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Chelsey McLean was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double. Khianna Stone Mendez also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Ontario's loss dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Vale, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season.

Ontario will be playing in front of their home fans against McLoughlin at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Vale, they will challenge Baker/Powder Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
