Baseball Recap: Piper Picks Up Third Straight Win at Home

After losing to Shawnee Heights the last time they met, Piper decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Pirates came out on top against the Thunderbirds by a score of 6-3 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pirates.

Carter Laird spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Eli Utter, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Judah Monhollon, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Thunderbirds beat Piper by a score of 9-2 later that day.
