Softball Recap: Thurston Continues Home Dominance on Friday

There's no place like home for Thurston, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top against the Canby Cougars by a score of 5-2 on Friday.

Not much got past Kasey Ogan, who gave up just six hits to keep Canby off the board. Those hits were Ogan's first of the season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kassy Anderson, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and one double. That home run marked the first that she launched this season.

Thurston's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Canby, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Looking ahead, Thurston is taking a road trip to face off against Churchill at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Canby, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Sherwood at 5:00 p.m. The Bowmen will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Cougars surely won't give up without a fight.
