Volleyball Recap: Messalonskee Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Messalonskee and York squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Messalonskee had to settle for second. They lost 3-0 to the Wildcats. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost three in a row.

The final score came out to 25-12, 25-16, 25-11.

Kelsie Murray paced Messalonskee's offense, picking up eight kills. Murray got some help from Jada Forney and her ten assists. Murray was also a major player on defense: she and she shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with six each.

York's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jillian Holland, who had 14 digs, 11 kills, and four aces. Holland has been hot for a while, having posted five or more kills the last 19 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Isabella Parrotta, who had seven digs and two aces.

Messalonskee's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for York, they pushed their record up to 15-1 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.

Messalonskee does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for York, they will take on Washington Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
