Soccer Game Preview: Northwest vs. Piketon

The Northwest Mohawks will take on the Piketon Redstreaks at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Northwest's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for 13 straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Northwest managed to slip by Peebles the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Mohawks lost 7-1 to the Indians on Wednesday. Northwest fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against Peebles since Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Piketon hadn't done well against Westfall recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Redstreaks sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Mustangs.

Northwest's defeat dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Piketon, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 6-10.
