Baseball Recap: Waitsburg/Prescott Comes Up Short

Waitsburg/Prescott was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 12-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Columbia Coyotes. If the Cardinals were looking for revenge after losing 14-2 to the Coyotes when the teams met back in April of 2021, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Waitsburg/Prescott's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Columbia, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-9.

Waitsburg/Prescott and Columbia could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings. The Cardinals (ranked 224th) will meet Liberty Christian (ranked 35th) at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Columbia will square off against Tri-Cities Prep at 3:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (270 vs. 34).
