Football Game Preview: Atholton Raiders vs. Oakland Mills Scorpions + Official Tickets

The Atholton Raiders will head out on the road to challenge the Oakland Mills Scorpions at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Thursday, Atholton earned a 37-28 win over Howard. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Raiders.

Atholton's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Tyler Bell, who rushed for 141 yards and one TD while picking up 7.4 yards per carry, and Darin Smith, who rushed for 113 yards and a pair of scores. Those 141 rushing yards gave Bell a new career-high.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Atholton was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 255 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Oakland Mills got themselves on the board against Long Reach on Thursday, but Long Reach never followed suit. They blew past the Lightning, posting a 49-0 victory. That 49 point margin sets a new team best for the Scorpions this season.

Atholton's record now sits at 5-2. As for Oakland Mills, their record is now 6-1.

Atholton took a serious blow against Oakland Mills in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, falling 31-0. Can the Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
