Softball Recap: Marshall Comes Up Short

Marshall was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mt. Pleasant Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-4 back in March.

Karleigh Robinson and Addi Watkins did some serious damage despite the final result: Robinson went 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Watkins scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Watkins has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

Marshall's loss dropped their record down to 9-15. As for Mt. Pleasant, they now have a winning record of 15-14-1.

Marshall does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mt. Pleasant, they will take on Jacksonville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers are facing the Fightin' Indians at the right time seeing as the Fightin' Indians are stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
