Softball Recap: Westwood Comes Up Short

Westwood had lost three straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 3-11 to make it four. They came up short against the Lake Linden-Hubbell Lakes, falling 16-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lakes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-2 on Tuesday.

As for Lake Linden-Hubbell, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 19 of their last 20 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games.

For Lake Linden-Hubbell's part, Emily Jokela was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. Those four hits gave Jokela a new career-high. Ashlyn Steves was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

Coming up, Westwood is taking a road trip to face off against Jeffers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lake Linden-Hubbell does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
