Football Recap: Mira Costa Takes a Tough Playoff Loss + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Mira Costa can now relate to. They took a 42-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chino Hills Huskies on Friday. Despite 91 more yards than the Huskies, the Mustangs couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Mira Costa's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Liam Meeker, who threw for 237 yards and a pair of TDs on only 19 passes, and Kingston Davies, who gained 149 total yards and three touchdowns. Davies' longest reception was for an incredible 74 yards. Barrett Ryan got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

It was another big night for Jacob Jimenez, who rushed for 125 yards and three scores for Chino Hills. That's the most rushing yards Jimenez has posted since back in September.

Mira Costa is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-5. As for Chino Hills, they pushed their record up to 8-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Mira Costa does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Chino Hills, they will take on Notre Dame (SO) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.
