Basketball Recap: South Dearborn Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact South Dearborn can now relate to. They had to suffer through a 62-24 loss at the hands of the Greensburg Pirates. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 299th, while the Pirates are ranked seventh).

Greensburg's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mylie Wilkison, who went 8 for 13 on her way to 20 points and three steals. What's more, Wilkison also posted a 62% shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Leah West, who went 5 of 8 to rack up 11 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals.

South Dearborn is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-17. As for Greensburg, the win keeps them at an undefeated 23-0.

South Dearborn does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Greensburg, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 60-50 victory against Jennings County on the 8th.
